Thematic Groups

This project, according to its data properties, is comprised of various thematic groups. Currently, there are 12 thematic groups in this project—and may increase year by year when more thematic genres evolve to be indispensable—Zoology, Botany, Geology, Anthropology, Archives, Artifacts, Calligraphy & Painting, Maps & Remote Images, Stone & Bronze Rubbings, Rare Books, Archaeology, and Journalism & Mass media. Each of the groups has an elected scholar or an invited specialist as its convener who, depending on the necessity, calls for coordination and discussion meetings on an irregular basis, whereas the project assistant serves to contact affiliated staff. This project calls for four joint conveners meetings every year to set up the working process and principles for the implemented data, as well as to establish the integration, function division, and coordination mechanisms to assist the participating institutions in implementing the project smoothly.

Furthermore, this project is obliged to hold at least two academic conferences annually on “digital archives content” that is relevant to its themes. The Committee of Content Development will submit a plan, co-organize the meetings with associated institutions, and invite domestic and overseas Digitization practitioners to exchange and share their experience in digitization.
