Introduction to Non-Solicited Projects

Development of Diversified Digital Archives

This project solicits for precious archives from different professions and intends to broaden the collection of digital archives content.This project includes the specimen of Taiwanese native creatures and minerals, works by writers, scholars, and artists in Taiwan and Mainland China, living instruments made by ordinary people and artificers, historical files about Chinese monarchs, generals and ministers, and news information about all the people.By digitizing these items, users can easily approach the complete collection of various types of materials through Internet.

Project Content:

This project (Digital Archives Project of Content Development- None Solicited Project) aims to subsidize and assist institutions that are interested in participating in content development of digital archives, and in establishing digital databases for all kinds of collections. All public and private, academic and research institutions with precious historical cultural relics (including calligraphy and paintings, files, books, documents, maps, rubbings, artifacts, etc) or data (such as zoological, botanical, and geological specimen, music, images, photographs, files, etc), are entitled to apply for the participation in this project

The Work Descriptions in this Project:

  • Drawing up the project solicitation forms and organizing project solicitation and to assist National Science Council review applications.
  • Providing all participating institutions help in attending “thematic groups” forums and assisting all participating institutions finish the implementation of digital data smoothly.
  • Managing and assessing the projects schedules, and evaluating projects effects.
  • Organizing public exhibition of the projects.
