Sub-Project 4: Open/Public Solicitations for the Content Development of the Digital Archives

Develop multi-faceted digital archives

Every year the National Digital Archives Project Content Development Division makes requests worldwide for valuable holdings to add to Taiwan’s digital contents. At the time of publishing, this already includes Taiwan’s own biology and mineral samples; works by famous authors, scholars and artists from both sides of the Taiwan Strait; everyday utensils made by commoners and artisans; the historical files of emperors and military and political leaders; and news media information relating to all aspects of life. After digitization, each type of resource can, through the internet, be displayed in its complete form before the public.

Main Tasks:

  • Organize project solicitations and help the National Science Council execute the examination and evaluation of concerned matters.
  • Assist each participating unit to participate in ‘thematic group’ discussion conferences.
  • Assist each participating unit to successfully finish the task of creating digital information.
  • Organize project progress evaluations and results appraisals.
  • Organize exhibition/s to display the result of the open/public solicitations plan.
